HOW DOES LOXA BEAUTY WORK FOR THE INDEPENDENT BEAUTY PROFESSIONAL?

How does Loxa Beauty work for the independent beauty professional?

As an independent beauty professional, you have the opportunity to build your profile, encourage clients to leave you reviews, post photos of your work, and advertise specials and deals. Independent beauty professionals who own their own salon or who are not associated with a commission salon receive 12% commissions on sales.

How does Loxa Beauty work for a commission salon?

Salon owners have control over their employee profiles.  As a salon owner you have the ability to build a salon profile, a profile for each of your employees, post pictures, and advertise specials and deals. Salon owners are able to delete employees from their salon account.  A commission salon owner receives a portion of all commissions, with another portion of the commission going to the commission stylist at that salon.  A commission salon owner receives 8% commissions on sales, while the commissioned pro at that salon at that salon receives 4% commissions.

How does Loxa Beauty work for a booth-renter salon?

If a booth-renter is independent, they will receive the same commission (12%) as an independent stylist.

I am a salon owner, and I do not have a Loxa Beauty account. What do I do if I find out one of my stylists has an account with your site?

As a salon owner, you have full control over whether your stylists can register with Loxa Beauty. If you find out that one of your stylists is registered with Loxa Beauty without your permission, please contact us by email at info@loxabeauty.com, or by phone at 1-855-299-3531, and we will deactivate their account.

I am a stylist working at a salon that doesn't have a Loxa Beauty account. Can I still sign-up and receive commissions?

Unfortunately, if your salon owner does not wish to participate in Loxa Beauty, you will not be able to create an account with us nor will you be able to receive commissions on product sales. Salon owners have full control over whether their stylists can registered with Loxa Beauty.

If you have any questions about whether you are eligible to participate in Loxa Beauty, please contact our customer service by email at info@loxabeauty.com, or call us at 1-855-299-3531.

Why do leading hair product manufacturers support Loxa Beauty?

Leading manufacturers have always been committed to supporting salons and stylists. The industry has known that salons and stylists are getting pushed out of sales online, and has been collaborating to find a solution. Loxa Beauty is that solution. Loxa Beauty is the only service that provides salons and stylists with a way to maintain their connection with clients even after clients leave the salon chair, the potential to earn commissions, and transparency on online product sales.

Aren’t major manufacturers opposed to selling online?

Manufacturers have always been concerned with preserving the relationship between the stylist and the client. Until Loxa Beauty, the internet has posed a problem because salons and stylists have been taken out of the sales process. Manufacturers are supporting Loxa Beauty because Loxa Beauty provides complete transparency in our commission-based payments to salons and stylists for each transaction.

Manufacturers realize the need to reach consumers online, and Loxa Beauty has provided that opportunity. Loxa Beauty not only offers legitimate, non-diverted products online, but at the same time Loxa also maintains the relationship between the stylist and the client.

Will Loxa Beauty hurt my salon sales?

Loxa Beauty does not take the place of any in-salon sales.  We realize that the ideal situation is for a client to purchase all their products with their stylist at the salon.  Unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen. If your clients are already purchasing online through other sites, they can now purchase through Loxa Beauty and still support you and your salon.

How does Loxa Beauty get their products?

Loxa Beauty is supported by BSG (Beauty Systems Group).  BSG is the largest distributor of salon products and handles the distribution for Loxa Beauty.

Does Loxa Beauty sell diverted products?

No, Loxa Beauty sells only legitimate salon products.  100% of all products sold on Loxa Beauty are authentic and authorized by the associated manufacturer.

Does Loxa Beauty carry salon color formulas?

We do not carry color formulas of any kind. We will sell color protection shampoos, conditioners, and styling products to help your clients care for their salon color.

GETTING STARTED

CREATING A PROFILE

How do I create a profile?

Learn about the benefits of creating an account and get started by visiting our How it Works page.

What can I include in my profile?

Use your profile as a marketing and branding tool to make yourself visible online and to meet new clients. You can include the following in your profile:

  • Basic Info: List your address, website, phone number, and salon hours so clients know how and when to reach you.
  • Photos: Show your stuff! Add a profile photo, photos of your work, and photos of your salon space.
  • Bio + Specialities: Are you an expert colorist? A proud graduate of the Paul Mitchell School? Skilled in Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques? Let clients know in this section! Include educational background, certifications, areas of interest, specialty services, and more.
  • Services + Prices: Describe each of your services and their associated prices so clients know what to expect. If prices vary, simply leave that section blank. You can also share deals and discounts with your clients, and change them as needed.
  • Reviews: Share your thoughts on products, and showcase your favorites! You’re also able to upload video reviews that will show up on product pages.

Get social: Include links to your social media pages so your clients can keep up with you!

Why isn’t my profile showing up?

When you fill out your information, you must enter a valid business address. For your profile to be visible and to be chosen by a consumer at check-out, you must associate your account with a salon. After these fields are completed, your profile will be publicly visible and you will be eligible to receive commissions.

If you are a stylist at a commissioned salon, the salon owner must approve your profile before it becomes visible.

Though it is not required, we strongly recommend uploading a profile photo so your clients can easily find and recognize you during checkout.

Creating your profile also gives you access to the CosmoProf App, which allows you to schedule appointments, manage your calendar, process payments with Square, write Loxa Scripts, receive exclusive offers and get inspiration from various artists and brands.

TOOLS TO HELP YOU

What tools will be available to me online once I’ve created an account?

Through the stylist dashboard, you will be able to access the HairScription recommendation tool, organize your client list, manage your commissions earned, and more using the stylist dashboard.

What are HairScription Recommendations?

HairScription recommendations maintain the stylist-client relationship even after the client leaves the salon. The HairScription tool is like a virtual salon shelf for stylists that lets stylists select from thousands of products.  Stylists select a client, choose which products that client should use, and the HairScription tool automatically sends an email to that client with those recommendations, as well as a buy now link.  When clients respond to the HairScription, they are sent to Loxa Beauty with the products in their basket, as well as their stylist pre-selected for checkout.

What if a client doesn’t buy through a HairScription Recommendation?

If a client doesn’t immediately click to purchase through a HairScription recommendation, Loxa Beauty will send reminder emails to that client that they have a personalized recommendation waiting for them.  Loxa Beauty has a dedicated marketing team that works on the behalf of stylists to encourage clients to buy legitimate products through their stylist.

If a client does not utilize the link provided in their HairScription email to purchase the recommended products from Loxa Beauty, but visits the site independently and purchases the same or different items, the client still has the option of selecting the stylist at checkout.

Does Loxa Beauty have a mobile app?

No, Loxa Beauty does not have an app, but our partner, CosmoProf does! It's a free app for beauty pros that can be a valuable business and marketing tool. Through the app, professionals can schedule appointments, manage their calendar, process payments with Square, write Loxa Scripts for clients, receive exclusive offers and get inspiration from various artists and brands.

Does Loxa sell personal information to other vendors for e-mail or mail order?

No, Loxa does not sell any personal information to third parties. Your info (and your clients’ info) is completely safe.

GETTING PAID

RECEIVING COMMISSIONS

Will commission be paid in a check to each individual or to the salon owner to divide amongst staff?

Commission payments are handled through PayPal. Once a salon’s or stylist’s Paypal account is linked to their Loxa account, they will be able to withdraw commissions. Once the payment has entered their Paypal account, the stylist or salon owner can choose to be paid via check, added to their Paypal debit card, or have the amount directly added to their bank account.

The Loxa system automatically divides commissions among a commission stylist at a salon and the salon owner, at the rate of 8% to the salon owner, and 4% to the commission stylist. When a customer selects a stylist at checkout, that stylist’s salon will also be credited for the purchase. The consumer can alternatively just choose a salon if they don’t patronize a particular stylist. In that case, the salon would receive the full 12% commission.

Commissions are based on items that have shipped complete from the warehouse. Please note, products may be sent in multiple shipments according to our warehouse inventory levels.

How does the Loxa Beauty choose a stylist within a commissioned salon for reward of the sale if the guest does not choose a specific individual?

If a customer doesn't choose a specific stylist at the salon, and only chooses the salon at checkout, then the salon gets the full commission.

How do I get my commission payments?

Simply log into your Loxa Pro dashboard, and click on the “Commissions” tab.

Choose the amount you would like to withdraw from your available commissions. Once you have made a commission withdrawal request, we will process it, and your funds will be deposited via PayPal within a week.

Are there additional shipping charges if an order has to be split into multiple shipments?

There are no additional shipping charges if an order has to be shipped in multiple boxes or at different times.

Does a customer have the option to cancel the shipment of any products that cannot ship for some reason?

Yes, if for some reason an order cannot be fulfilled, the customer will have the option to cancel the order.

If a customer receives an error message, the order will not process.  The customer will always receive a confirmation email if their order was placed, and then subsequent emails detailing the order status.

If customers have questions when ordering, is there a customer support person to assist them?

RETURN POLICY

What are the return/replacement policy requirements?

We have a very customer-focused return policy that allows a customer to send unused or lightly used products back for a full refund or replacement.

How will the return policy work with website purchases?

We have a 30 day return policy if your client isn't satisfied.  We can’t process returns on certain VOC and Hazmat, but we will replace or refund those items if the customer is not satisfied with those products.

Who pays shipping on the products if a customer chooses to return an inappropriate selection or a damaged product?

Cancelling

You are able to cancel your account at any time by contacting customer service.

Will my reviews transfer?

Yes - your reviews will stay with you no matter the type of stylist account you have or if you transfer salons.

Stylist Permissions

Stylists creating a salon for the first time defaults them to “owner” no matter which role they choose. “Owners” can accept all stylists and set a different owner, but will not be able get money on behalf of the salon.

If a guest purchase results in a stylist receiving a commission and there is a cause for return of the product after the stylist terminates employment at the salon, does the commission get debited from the stylist or salon?

At this point, we are not debiting or instituting any “take backs” on commissions for returned products.  We expect our return rate to reflect the industry average of 1-2%, and we will let the stylists and salons keep the commission for the returned product.  If our system flags a stylist or salon for having excessive returns, or trying to game the system, we will contact them.

Beauty pro tax update

Once you reach $600 in withdrawn commissions, we will request that a W-9 be completed. A 1099 tax form will then be provided for you for tax purposes.

How do I sign up my stylists?

You may sign up your stylists on their behalf, but each stylist account requires a separate email and password at sign-up. Your stylists may also sign up on their own.

Can I just create an account for my salon and not for individual stylists?

Yes. Any commissions earned for your salon will go to the salon owner.

What if a stylist leaves my salon?

If a stylist leaves your salon and has indicated the departure in their individual account, Loxa Beauty will automatically delete that stylist from the salon account. If the stylist has not indicated a departure, the salon owner can manually remove the stylist from the salon account.

Who gets the commission?

The Loxa system automatically divides commissions among a commission stylist at a salon and the salon owner, at the rate of 8% to the salon owner, and 4% to the commission stylist. When a customer selects a stylist at checkout, that stylist’s salon will also be credited for the purchase. The consumer can alternatively just choose a salon if they don’t patronize a particular stylist. In that case, the salon will receive the full 12% commission.

How will I recieve commission payments?

Commission payments are handled through PayPal. Once a salon’s or stylist’s Paypal account is linked to their Loxa account, they will be able to withdraw commissions. Can I change commission amounts?

No.

What if I own multiple salon locations?

Each salon location will require a separate account using a separate email address at sign-up.

What happens if a customer chooses my salon, but not a particular stylist, at checkout?
