Winter Wedding Trends

Bridal Hair Trends for Winter 2013

We've seen bridal trends transform quite a bit this year. In recent previous years, the trend was more of a sleek and modern look. This year, hair trends have been booming with volume, and the bridal up-styles are no exception! Whatever you choose, be sure that it is pristine and flattering for your face-shape and then ask your stylist for mega volume to stay on trend! We love to see a modern take on the classic 'Beehive' of the 1960s, mixed with a bit of old Hollywood glam from the 1920's, volume and finger-waves, what could be better!? Lastly, don't forget your crowning glory. Tiaras and crowns are making a huge come-back, but if you aren't the princess type, opt for a metallic hair accessory that draws attention to the style. We especially love vintage combs, glitzy headbands and soft, feminine sparkling hair pins.

Alternative Bouquets

Everyone knows that many flowers do not typically thrive in the winter time, thus making it difficult for a winter bride to convincingly carry a bouquet of bright-colored, fresh florals. 2013 Bridal Trends are compensating for this fact by inspiring brides to think outside the box when it comes to carrying a bouquet down the isle. This Winter, we'll see lots of alternative options for bridal bouquets including the use of wintery foliage like pine cones and needles, twigs, red berries, fluffy lambs ear and thistle. But don't shy away from the incorporation of flowers altogether, as there are dozens of choices for florals that bloom in the Winter! We love to see snowdrops, winter jasmine, phlox, hellebore, or of course, poinsettias for that bold pop of color!

Metallic Everything!

Gold, Silver and Bronze are HUGE this year. We've seen them on the runways, in all the designers' Fall/Winter lines, in home accessories and absolutely in weddings! Find a way to add a complimentary metal to your collection of wedding colors. We especially love the introduction of wintery ways to deck out the tables capes at the reception with these pretty metallic hues, but don't stop there! Add metal accents to your bouquet, opt for some silver slippers (or stiletto's!) or choose a hair accessory that shimmers and shines on the dance floor!

Barely There Gowns

Want to know what the single largest wedding gown trend is, seen in designer after designer's bridal gown collections for Fall/Winter 2013?! The Illusion neckline! Nothing adds more sophisticated intrigue like a barely there neckline. Pair this trend with a romantic, frothy skirt and you are right on course! Designers have flooded the market this winter with illusion-neckline gowns adorned with lace, pearls, beading and rhinestones. The illusion neckline gives the Winter 2013 bride the timeless classic distinction of a higher neckline without looking too timid or traditional.
