Short & Sweet: Easy Ideas for Short Hair

Think you don't have enough hair to try out fun hairdos? Think again, my short-haired friends! Try these easy ideas for short hair for your next day at the office or night on the town!

Today's model: My lovely sister Leslie.

short hair straight and curlyAs you can see, Leslie's hair ends right below the nape of her neck. To start, I roughly curled her hair with a .7-1" curling wand and sprayed it lightly with hairspray to give it some extra texture.

easy short hairstyle ideas1. Twisted updo: Tease hair at the crown for a boost of volume. Twist back a small section on each side until they come together at the back of your head. Secure with a clear elastic. Hairspray!

2. Side twist: Twist a small section of your hair back away from your face. Secure by criss-crossing two bobby pins. Hairspray!

3. Half-up French braid: Take the top section of your hair, divide it into three sections and start your French braid. (Need a tutorial on French braid? Check this out first.) Add a few pieces from each side of your head to continue your braid, then secure it with a clear elastic. Hairspray!

4. Criss-cross half-up 'do: Take a small section of hair from the right side of your head and cross it over to the left side; secure with a bobby pin. Take a small section of hair from the left side of your head and cross it over to the right side; secure with a bobby pin. Continue taking small pieces from either side of your head and pinning until your desired amount of hair is pulled back. Hairspray!
