Eating for the Health of your Hair (Guest Blogger)

It just makes perfect sense to regularly practice eating healthy food for healthy hair, as what you put in your body will inevitably show on the outside! Eating the right minerals, vitamins and nutrients will give your hair a major boost, resulting in increased shine, body and luster, not to mention a boost of hair growth. Salmon is the most recommended healthy food for healthy hair, as it is rich in protein and Vitamin D, both of which are crucial to strong hair. If you are not a salmon fan, you can also get essential fatty acids from sardines, trout and mackerel, as well as avocado, pumpkin seeds and walnuts (in the event that you are a vegetarian).

Eat for Healthy Hair

Beta carotene is essential as an antioxidant for your body, and sweet potatoes are a healthy food for healthy hair that contains a high amount of this antioxidant. It helps protect and produce oils that sustain your scalp and also help prevent dandruff. You can also get beta carotene from carrots, mangoes, pumpkins and apricots as well. Eggs are another great source of protein and contains four main minerals: selenium, zinc, sulfur and iron, which help carry oxygen to hair follicles and prevent hair loss. Remember these hair-healthy foods when choosing your meals and try to start incorporating them into your daily routine!
