Always feel like the grass is greener on the other side of the fence? In other words…If your hair is straight, you long for luscious curls. More often even than this scenario is curly-headed beauties wishing for sleek, bone-straight locks.
We believe that the latter is usually the case when one of two things happens; 1. This curly-haired maiden has never truly had a haircut that works WITH her hair and not against it, OR 2. She has never been taught how to properly style it! Curly girlies…heed our words - LEARN TO LOVE THE CURL!
Our stylists here at G Michael Salon are specifically trained to work with natural curl patterns, and are more than proficient at helping you achieve curl-heaven! We also have some great styling tips on how to achieve and re-create the looks of a few of Hollywood's most famous girls with curls! Check out these styles categorized by your hair type.
Have Loose, Uneven Waves like Taylor Swift? TRY THIS LOOK!
Step 1: Apply mousse (try J Beverly Hills 'Mousse Up' or Sebastian Mousse Forte) throughout the entire head of hair.
Step 2: Blow dry hair at the roots, then use a diffuser to blow dry the ends.
Step 3: Get to curling! Wrap sections of hair around a large 1-inch barrel curling iron. Our stylists use and recommend using the Hot Tools brand, 24 karat plated barrel irons.
Step 4: Lastly add a defining cream or a styling glaze. We like J Beverly Hills' 'Glaze Me' to help separate and define your curls, giving just a touch of extra shine and hold.

Have Tight Spiral Curls like Annalynne McCord? TRY THIS LOOK!
Step 1: Apply a smoothing serum with LOTS of shine (like Schwarzkopf Pro Osis+ Magic Anti-Frizz Shine Serum or J Beverly Hills' 'Shine Drops'), and comb only the middle section of your hair back.

Step 3: Blow dry hair with a diffuser, using your fingers to pull hair gently to preserve the natural texture as much as possible.
Step 4: Use a small 1/2" or 1" (depending on your length) curling iron and identify some key spots around your face that you want to dress up which will give you a great mix of tight natural spirals and softness.
