Loxa Beauty teamed up with CHI to help you recreate this SUPER glam updo - with the help of Miss South Africa Universe 2012 Melinda Bam.

You will need:

Clips

Comb

Brush

Clear elastic hair tie

Bobby pins

CHI Infra Texture Dual Action Hairspray  - A fast-drying finishing hairspray.

CHI Shine Infusion - Thermal polishing spray that adds incredible shine to hair.

CHI Helmet Head Hairspray - Fast-drying aerosol hair spray with extra-firm hold. 

 

Let's get started.

1. Starting from the crown of the head, create triangular sections around the head (with the point of each triangle originating at the crown). Clip each section out of the way, making sure to incorporate all hair into the clips.

 

2. Take the hair from one triangular section. Spray it evenly with CHI Infra Texture Dual Action Hairspray.

 

3. Curl the section with a 1” CHI Orbit Styling Wand, then secure it again with a clip.

 

4. Repeat steps 2-3 on all the triangular sections of hair until all have been curled and re-clipped.

 

5. Let your hair cool for approx. five minutes. Remove the clips and comb through the hair with a wide tooth comb. Spray all over with CHI Shine Infusion.

 

6. Starting on the top of your head, backcomb or tease your hair. Continue to backcomb all of the hair on the top, back and sides of your head, leaving just a 1" section of hair at the nape of the neck un-teased. Between each section, spray CHI Infra Texture Dual Action Hairspray.

 

7. Gently brush the hair upward, from the nape of your neck to the top of your head, keeping the underside of your hair smooth.

 

8. Create a loose ponytail, then secure it with a clear elastic. Brush back the sides of your hair and secure them with bobby pins around and under the ponytail to hide the elastic band.

 

9. Brush the hair from the ponytail towards the front on top of the head. Then create a wave on the top of your head using the CHI Styling Wand.

10. Continue to curl small sections from the top in opposite
directions. Spray with CHI Infra Texture Dual Action Hairspray.

 

11. Take the loose hair from the nape of your neck and comb it up over the ponytail. Secure it with a bobby pin, then spray the entire 'do with CHI Helmet Head Hairspray.
