Hair Trends for 2014

We've forecasted 2014's must have makeup trends, but what will the new year have in store for your hair? Here are the key trends that you can plan on seeing more of in the year to come.

Braid crowns

2013 seemed to be the year of the braid and 2014 is setting up to go much the same way.  Slightly undone braid crowns like the ones spotted at Rebecca Minkoff and Nicole Miller are the style to beat, but snake, spiral braids and protective braids are just as good.

Rock ‘n Roll Waves

You know all about beach waves and deep waves, but now it’s time to master rock ‘n roll waves! The new wave is 1 part bedhead and 1 part barely there wave.  Get your hands on a large barrel curling iron, Wella Extra Volume Styling  mousse and Tigi Catwalk Session Series Transforming Dry shampoo to boost texture to the max for these grunge inspired waves.

Flower Power

Flowers were a choice hair adornment at spring shows for Zac Posen and Jenny Packham. That means we can count pretty much count on playing with floral accessories as a accents in ponytails, braids, messy curls and undone updo’s for 2014.

Low Ponytails

Hope you’re down for taking your ponytail a little lower because the nape grazing (or lower) pony had a strong presence at NYFW. From sleek and shiny to voluminous and tousled, anything goes with the look of the pony as long as it’s low. How low will your ponytail go?

Along with these 4 themes, our eyes are still on short ‘n chic pixies and natural hair as continued hair stories for the year ahead.
