Now that summer is here I'm concerned with one thing : REE-laxing! Oh, and also giving my hair a little something new. I'm thinking, protective styling with clip-ins!
Here's how I did it.
To begin start with freshly washed hair. I used Simply Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner to clean and detangle my hair.
Next, separate a section at the top of your hair for a bang. (I will be leaving this section out to straighten.) For the rest of your hair, cornrow it and pin it up using hair pins.
After the braids are securely pinned, use one pump of Simply Smooth Calming Balm heat protectant all over the section that was left out for the bangs. This will help keep moisture in before blow-drying your bangs.
Once your bangs are completely dry, roll them up and secure with a hair pin to keep them in place while adding in the clip-ins.
Using the longest track, start clipping the first extension at the back of your head. When you get to the middle, use clip-ins along the sides of your head and around the crown. I added in extra clip-ins where I felt was needed.
Once the clip-ins are secure, remove the hair pin from your bangs and massage a little smoothing serum all over. This will add moisture, and help with frizziness. I used Bain de Terre's Recovery Complex Anti-frizz Serum.
Finally, using a flat-iron, curl your bangs. I rotated the flat-iron to create loose waves.
Here is my finished look!
To prolong the length of this style, I would suggest removing the clip-ins at night and keeping the hair wrapped in a satin bonnet. You can also wrap your hair in a low ponytail and cover with a satin bonnet.
